Kay

“What’s up Kay? You moving yet?” King asked after I answered. Laney was gone with Kennedy and I was just chillin’ at the house.

“Yeah, I’m good, what's up?”

“I need you to go meet Nori with me. It’s last minute so everybody else is caught up right now. I couldn't get Karter. His shit went straight to voicemail so I figured he was on a job.”

“Yeah, he’s working some shit right now, but I can meet you. Just let me know where.”

“How about just meet me at my house, and we can leave from there.”

“Aight, give me about thirty minutes to throw on some clothes and I’ll be on my way.”

“Aight, bet.”

I shut off the TV in the living room before I headed to the bedroom to get dressed. The only thing I had really done after Laney left this morning, was chill on the sofa watching SportsCenter. I wasn't really in the mood to go all in, so I chose a Nike fleece suit and a pair of Roshe Runs. I didn't have anyone to impress and I planned on chillin’ today anyway. After I was dressed and ready to go, I locked up and decided to take my Wrangler. It's was nice out so I removed the top and was on my way.

“So this official business?” I asked after I walked in King’s house and waited for him to set the security so that we could head out.

“Not really. Del, just happened to be in town so he asked if we were good with a quick meeting. I told him it was last minute, so everyone couldn't be there, but he was good with that.”

“So his daughter is taking over, that’s some shit. That would be like Kenni and Mani running shit when they got older,” I said out loud, but really more to myself.

King laughed. “Can you see that shit? Or even better, Ky and Mira.”

“Oh hell no.” I looked at King and really laughed. “Maybe if we were pushing clothes and not drugs. Both their spoiled asses wouldn't last one day.”

“True dat,” King said with a smirk.

We drove for damn near an hour before King pulled up to what looked like a damn compound. It reminded me of my parent’s property. It was nice as hell but security was tight. You could tell from the time we reached the front gate.

“This her shit?” I asked remembering that King mentioned that this Nori chick had a house here in North Carolina.

“Hell yeah. I've never been here before though,” King said, after we got cleared through the front gate by security.

“This is our shit,” I chuckled. “All that money we make for Del, is paying for this.” I pointed to the mini mansion that I could see off in the distance. It took us another ten minutes just to reach the house and when we did, Del was standing on the porch waiting. Oddly enough, he wasn't surrounded by his men but was dressed in an expensive, over the top tailored black suit.
